CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR –SILENCE WAS HER ONLY ANSWER

"Hugo?" She called out hesitantly at first, then more forcefully. "Hugo, are you still in there?" Silence was her only answer. She strained to make out any sound of movement from within the cavernous exhibit but heard nothing. Shaking her head in bewilderment, she set off toward the exit at the opposite end of the warehouse. And that's when she glimpsed it - a faint shaft of light filtering out from under one of the rusted metal doors lining the space. Frowning, she made her way over and tried the handle. It was unlocked, and the door swung open with a groan, revealing a small, grimy utility room. A bare bulb flickered on as she gaped inside... ...at the very same black-clad figure lying prone on the filthy floor, immobile but for the subtle rise and fall of his chest. "Hugo?!" Jasmine gasped in disbelief, hurrying over to crouch beside his still form. "Oh my god, are you okay?"
