Chapter 525 Something's Not Right

Astrid hadn't been eating well recently. She didn't like Erewhonian food, and neither of us knew how to cook. So, we had been living off of fast food for the past few days. From time to time, Jack would make us food. Other than that, we'd opt for fast food. We got off work on time today, which was very unusual for us. Astrid picked a newly opened five-star restaurant today. We had just taken our seats when we heard a familiar but sarcastic voice. "Geez, both of you aren't a part of the project anymore. How do you still have the money to have meals here? Did you find some gullible fools to extort? I have to say that you two amaze me." Mackenzie showed up with a newly bought handbag, and she seemed to have gotten a new bracelet too. This time, I could tell that she bought them fresh off the shelves. She was even carrying shopping bags with her. Mackenzie noticed my gaze and proudly lifted her chin. "Mr. Gray said he was sorry for neglecting me before. He said he didn't know I was
