"Is he single?" Julien asked.
"I don't know," Helen mumbled. It had been two years since she last contacted Marcus; how would she know if he was single?
"Lennie," Marcus suddenly spoke, breaking her thoughts. "Is the sun bothering you? Should I lower the sun visor?"
"No, it's fine," she replied.
On the other end of the call, Julien chuckled softly after hearing Marcus' voice. "Lennie, let me know when you get home."
"Mm, I will."
"I've got things to do. Talk later."
"Bye-bye." Just before Julien could hang up, Helen quickly added, "Wait! Don't forget what I told you before I left."
"No smoking. Not even secretly."
"Got it."
After the call ended, Marcus asked, "That was a friend?"
Helen nodded, not offering any further explanation.
When they finally arrived, he drove into the parking garage, got out, and grabbed Helen's suitcase, walking her all the way to her door. Her parents, James Sanders and Amelia Drake, opened it and welcomed both of them inside.
