When Shelmaine unlocked the muted group chat, familiar names filled the screen, all actively chatting. Scrolling up, she noticed her old deskmate had uploaded a few photos. To her discomfort, the photo included her—clearly taken earlier that day without her knowledge.

Shelmaine frowned. Taking photos without permission was essentially spying, and it left her feeling unsettled.

She sent a brief greeting to the group. In truth, she barely remembered most of her classmates' names. After so many years, her memory retained only a handful of faces—those she had meaningful interactions with.
