Shelmaine ignored him, grabbed her handbag and phone, and walked straight out the door. Samuel, still in his robe, had no way to follow her.
She met Isabelle at a café in the mall. Despite the time that had passed, their bond hadn't faded. The moment they saw each other, they embraced, and Isabelle almost burst into tears. Shelmaine gently calmed her down.
"How have you been, Shelly?" Isabelle asked.

"I'm sorry I made you worry," Shelmaine said softly.
"It's okay. That's all behind us now. But what about the divorce? Did you and Samuel finalize it? How's the case going?" Isabelle asked, leaning in.
Shelmaine sighed and shook her head. "No, we haven't divorced. Actually…"
