Samuel glanced at the message but didn't reply. Before long, he arrived at the place where Shelmaine was staying.
He parked the car along the roadside and observed it. He hadn't brought a driver. Instead, he had come alone to quietly watch the house, which looked exactly like the one in the photo.
After two years, it felt like a lifetime had passed.
Suddenly, the balcony door on the second floor opened, and a woman stepped out, seemingly to water the plants. From a distance, he could make out her flowing long dress and long hair over her shoulders. Her skin was so pale it almost seemed like it reflected the light.
After watering the plants, she returned inside, closed the door, and drew the curtains, blocking any view except for the light filtering through.
