Chapter 41
After wrapping up everything, the sky began to lighten. Avery and I were so exhausted that we could barely drag ourselves along. As we passed a breakfast joint, we ordered a table full of burgers. Neither of us said a word. We just focused on devouring our food.
Before heading back to the office, I turned to Avery and said, "Keep this quiet. Until we know for sure, don't say a word to anyone."
He nodded. "Got it."
When we returned to the business department, everyone was dressed neatly and ready to go.
Meanwhile, Avery and I looked like a mess. Our hair was disheveled, and our shirts were wrinkled.
As we walked by Team Alpha, Samuel started to mock me. "Mr. Richardson, did you spend the whole night wandering the streets because you knew you'd fail?"
Even though I was tired, I was in a good mood. "Let's see if you can still laugh like that later."
