The last thing I wanted was for Dr. Sanders to ask about my condition and expose my brush with death to Luna.
I quickly answered, "Thank you for reminding me, Dr. Sanders. I'll make an appointment to speak with you about the specialized drugs after my father awakens."
Fortunately, Dr. Sanders took the cue and understood my implication despite my few words. He said casually, "Very well, but you'll have to decide as soon as possible. It's better to nip things in the bud before they get worse. Wouldn't want to regret now, would we?"
I knew he was referring to my condition, but Luna seemed to think he was talking about my father.
I flashed Dr. Sanders a smile and said, "I understand, Dr. Sanders. Thank you."
He nodded curtly, then cast a thoughtful look at Luna before continuing on his way.
