Chapter 140: New Horizons
The cursor mocked him, blinking steadily in the unresponsive document—a digital metronome counting down the seconds of Nathan's indecision. Thus far, he had sat at his desk for hours, trying to draft an email that felt impossible to write. First, with a deep breath, he set his fingers on the keyboard and began:
Dear Olivia,
Dear [Name], I hope this email finds you well. Lately, I have been doing quite a bit of thinking.
Nathan leaned back and his hands hovered over the keys. How could he possibly fit it all on an email? All of the sessions, the exhibitions of his art, the searching of his soul—it was too big, too immense to be put into words that show up as pixels on a screen.
But he knew he had to do this. This was the last step in his journey of self-discovery—that last missing piece of the puzzle before he could really move on. He started to type furiously once again:
I wanted to let you know that I am going on sabbatical. I'm going to travel and discover places and perspective
