Chapter 6
"It's fine. I know you’re just asking out of concern. She wouldn’t die, don't worry about it. Everything will work out just fine.”
Jin looked at the guilty face of Yana and comforted her. Yana felt like a winner, as she got the reaction she wanted from Jin. She nodded at him and silently followed him on the elevator.
Jin followed Yana's advice. The next morning, he asked the housekeeper to go to the hospital to take Ciara home so she could rest.
Ciara did not say a word when she got into the car. She stared blankly at the window with her tears rolling down her cheeks. Only the exhaustion on her face and the infinite sadness under her eyes revealed her emotions.
The butler wanted to comfort her, but he could not find any comforting words to say. He ended up sighing and drove the car back to the villa.
Ciara had a high fever since her first night at home. However, it has been three days since Jin came home. When the housekeeper called Jin, all he had to say was, "A fever won't cost her life. You don't have to go to the hospital to waste money. Just wipe her body with a cold towel at home."
The housekeeper did not get the permission of Jin to take Ciara to the hospital. With that, he did not dare to take Ciara away from the villa and let the servants wipe Ciara's body every three hours with a cold towel.
The night of the fourth day, Ciara was unconscious due to her very high fever. When the servant wiped her body, she saw a large bloodstain on the sheets. She panicked and asked the housekeeper to call Jin right away. When Jin heard that Ciara was bleeding, his hands shook violently as he was holding the phone. On the other line, he said, "Take her to the hospital immediately. I will not let her die. She must not die."
The housekeeper sent Ciara to the hospital, and the doctor pushed her directly into the emergency room. When Jin arrived at the hospital, the doctor had just finished the operation.
Upon seeing the doctor came out, Jin immediately asked, "How was she doing?"
"The abortion operation that the patient did a few days ago was not cleaned, and the severe bleeding caused by the high fever has been dealt with. You need to pay more attention to the fact that she had been feverish for days. A lot of other patients with high fever come to the hospital so you have to make sure she gets treated well.”
Looking at Ciara unconscious in the hospital bed, Jin was frightened. He gently caressed her little face with his hand. If it weren't for the faint breath at the tip of her nose, the cold touch on her hand would’ve made him think that she is already dead. After sending Ciara back to the ward, he told the housekeeper to take good care of her and he left afterwards.
Ciara woke up early the next day and immediately opened her eyes. When she found herself lying in the ward, with sheets smelling like disinfectant, she hurriedly sat up.
The housekeeper saw her wake up and poured her a glass of water.
"Madam, you are awake at last. Do you still feel uncomfortable? I'll call the doctor for you."
"Why did he send me to the hospital? Wouldn't it be better for him to let me die?"
The housekeeper heard her say so and hurriedly spoke up and explain to her.
"Sir heard that you were bleeding and immediately ordered to rush you to the hospital. You are husband and wife, so how could he harm you?"
