CHAPTER FORTY TWO – THINGS LOOK UP FROM HERE
Two weeks had passed since the tumultuous events at Keppler Heritage. The sun was setting on the horizon as a sleek black limousine pulled up to the sprawling Noble mansion. Clarissa stepped out, her designer sunglasses perched atop her head, followed closely by Mara, who looked visibly more relaxed than she had in weeks.
"That spa trip was exactly what I needed," Clarissa sighed contentedly, stretching her arms above her head. "Don't you agree, Mara?"
Mara nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "It was certainly rejuvenating, Miss Noble."
As they approached the grand entrance, the massive oak doors swung open, revealing Cassius standing in the foyer. His face broke into a rare, genuine smile as he saw his sister.
"Welcome back, you two," he said, his deep voice resonating through the space. "I have some news."
Clarissa's eyes widened. "Good or bad? Please tell me it's good, Cass. I don't think I can handle any more drama right now."
