Cynthia quickly got up and left. After that conversation, it was way too awkward to stay any longer. Besides, Zachary was about to marry Janice, and she couldn't let any more embarrassing incidents like this happen again. As she hastily exited the room, she bumped into Janice, who had just returned. She paused mid-step and exclaimed, "You're back." Janice hadn't expected Cynthia to still be there. Seeing her flushed and flustered appearance, as if something inappropriate had just occurred, her face turned red with jealousy. "Why are you still here? Don't you usually go back every night?" she snapped in a sharp tone. Cynthia wanted to explain herself, but Janice's hostile attitude made it clear that there was no point in doing so. Instead, her lips curled into a mocking smile. "I stayed to seduce Zachary. Do you believe that?" Janice clenched her fists, resisting the urge to hit her as she remembered that Zachary was home. "You shameless bitch! How can you say something like that?"
