Unforgivable Crime

When Ken saw his father, his face lit up with pure joy. ‘Daddy! Nathaniel set him down on the floor. The toddler rushed towards Kieran. ‘Why did you kill him?’ Nessa asked. She was talking about Viktor, whose lifeless body lay sprawled on the ground. Kieran covered Ken’s eyes with one hand. Nessa sighed. She had gone through so much work to bring Viktor to justice, only to witness this tragic end. Kieran gently set Ken down, his expression solemn. ‘I’m sorry I had to make that decision. He kidnapped my wife and son, and for me, that’s an unforgivable crime. Besides, I believe someone was protecting him, the only reason why he could hide from the law for so long. There’s no guarantee he would spend his life behind bars even if he was arrested. I had to do this my way.’ Nessa sighed heavily once more.
