I stared at Eimile, who glared at me with hate in her eyes.
‘Sarah was with Kieran first!’ she yelled. ‘They have a child together. They are a family. What right do you have to chase them away?’
Eimile talked so fast that I couldn’t get a word in edgewise.
She didn’t seem to want to hear my side of the story.
I held back a sigh.
Eimile kept giving me the death stare.
Behind her, Sarah looked at me with a smug smile.
It was two against one.
‘Apologise to her,’ Eimile ordered.
‘You must be kidding.’ Her attitude got my back up.
I didn’t lay a finger on Sarah.
Nor did I try to throw her out.
Eimile was being unreasonable.
‘I’m not.’ She took a menacing step forward. ‘Apologise.’
Sarah came forward with undried tears on her cheeks. ‘It’s okay, Eimile. Forget it. I’m fine.’
‘No, you are not!’ Eimile literally sided with her. ‘She had no right to hit you. She has to apologise.’
Sarah patted Eimile’s arm. ‘It’s not Miss Finnegan’s fault.’
