A Ghost From His Past
‘Jamie’s probably thrilled,’ I said. ‘He finally gets to see a real giraffe.’
‘Dream come true.’ Cara smiled. ‘He has been talking about nothing else since he learned we were going to Africa. Insisted on telling us the story of Stephen the Giraffe last night.’
Which explained why the little man was conked out in a pram at the moment, blowing bubbles out of his nose.
Cara winked at me. ‘Jamie’s almost four now. Don’t you think it’s time you have a little one of your own?’
I blushed. ‘It’s not like I can just do it by myself.’

‘I’ll keep that in mind.’ Kieran smiled.
‘We’ve got to go now.’ Cara hugged me again. ‘I’ll call you when I land.’
Kieran and I stood there and watched the family of three go through Customs.
‘They look so good together,’ I said. ‘I’m happy for them.’
‘Me, too.’ Kieran circled my waist with his arms. ‘They should’ve gotten together three years ago.’
