She paused, taking a shaky breath. "I know how bad it looked, the evidence stacked against me, the media painting me as a cold-blooded killer. Nia looked up, her eyes pleading as they met the gazes of her family members. "I have my suspicions about what really happened that night, pieces that don't add up, but I know I can't change the past. All I can do is move forward and try to be better. But I can't do it alone.
