Nia nodded, a bittersweet smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "I'd like that, Justin. Thank you for understanding."
Justin returned her smile, his expression filled with a sense of wistful acceptance. "Take care of yourself, Nia. And tell Leon that I'm happy for the two of you."
With that, Justin turned and made his way out of the lobby, leaving Nia to grapple with the weight of his words. She stood there for a moment, her heart racing, before Maria approached her, a concerned look on her face.
"Nia? Is everything okay?" her friend asked, her voice soft and gentle.
Nia took a deep breath, her gaze meeting Maria's. "Yes, I... I think so. Justin just wanted to talk, that's all."
Maria's expression softened with understanding. "Do you want to talk about it?"
Nia shook her head, a faint smile tugging at her lips. "No, it's alright. Let's just get these ingredients upstairs and start cooking. I can't wait to see the look on Leon's face when he tastes this meal."
