CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE - Covert Tasks in Broad Daylight
They left the cafe separately, with Nia going first, then Leon, and finally Sanders. As Nia waited for Leon by the car, she felt a mix of emotions swirling inside her - hope, fear, determination, and a burning desire for justice.
Leon joined her a few minutes later, his face set in a mask of concentration. "You okay?" he asked as they got into the car.
Nia took a deep breath. "Yeah, I think so. It's just... a lot to process."
"I know," Leon said softly. "But we're in this together, Nia. We're going to get to the bottom of this, I promise you that."
As they drove back to Leon's penthouse, the city seemed different to Nia now. Every passerby could be a potential threat, every camera a watchful eye. She clutched her notebook tightly, her mind already racing with plans and contingencies.
They rode the elevator up to Leon's penthouse in silence, both lost in thought. As the doors opened and they stepped into the familiar space, Nia felt a strange sense of relief. For now, at least, the
