CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY – THE TEXTS DON’T LIE
"Whoa," he breathed. "You've got quite a setup here."
Nia managed a tight smile. "Yeah, well, it's for work. Sort of." She gestured to the laptop on her desk. "That's the one I need to get into."
Tristan nodded, cracking his knuckles as he sat down. "Alright, let's see what we're dealing with."
For the next few hours, Nia watched in amazement as Tristan's fingers flew across the keyboard. He muttered to himself, occasionally asking her questions about the laptop's origin and possible security measures. Nia answered as vaguely as she could, her anxiety growing with each passing minute.
As the first rays of dawn began to peek through the windows, Tristan let out a triumphant whoop. "We're in!"
Nia's heart leapt into her throat as she rushed to the desk. "You did it?"
Tristan nodded, a smug grin on his face. "Wasn't easy, but yeah. Whatever's on here, someone really didn't want anyone to see it."
