Nia felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. She knew she was losing ground fast. "I understand your concerns, Ms. Martinez. But I hope you'll consider my track record of success and the skills I can bring to your team. I've learned a lot from my experiences, both positive and negative, and I believe they've made me a stronger, more mature professional."
Sarah tapped her pen against her tablet, considering. "Your work at Rivertown was impressive, I'll grant you that. But we need more than just technical skills here. We need people who can be trusted to make good decisions, to represent our brand impeccably at all times."
Nia nodded eagerly. "I completely agree. And I can assure you, if given the opportunity, I would—"
"Thank you, Ms. Moreno," Sarah interrupted, her tone final. "I think I have all the information I need for now. We'll be in touch if we decide to move forward with your application."
The dismissal was clear. Nia's heart sank as she stood, forcing a smile onto her face.
