After a few seconds of silence, Eva turned to Shane and said, "I've hidden the fact that you're pregnant from Lance. I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing or not..." Shane didn't say anything. The silence between the two didn't last long before Shane spoke. "Can I borrow your phone? I want to contact my family." Shane said to Eva. Eva sighed, "I'm sorry. Lance told me that you can't contact your family." Shane was stunned. "Why?" Eva didn't want to answer. She handed the medicine to Shane again and said, "take it." Shane overturned the cup in Eva's hand. The warm water sprinkled on her wrist and stained Eva's clothes. "Go away!" Eva was taken aback by Shane's sudden anger. Eva stood up from the bed and put the glass on the bedside table. She wanted to help her up, but she pushed her away. "Lance has no right to keep me here, nor to restrict my contact with my family." Shane said to Eva in a harsh tone. Eva stood quietly aside and watched Shane fumbling up from the bed.
