Kimberly stumbled in bed and slept like a log. The Athletic built woman following her about exasperated and triggered a numb sense of fear in her. The meeting with her parents gnawed at her. She was hopeful and fearful altogether. She didn't know what to make of them. They'd been overly kind to her and she'd been sure they were okay but stepping back into her apartment in New York with all the hustles and bustles around made her uncertain. She felt suddenly that they might not be as safe as they'd been when she'd seen them. Kim woke up to the ringing of her phone. She was reluctant to get up from her bed but the caller wouldn't relent and so she climbed off the bed, padded reluctantly and took the call. She'd kept the phone on the couch adjacent to her bed and she hated that it was farther than her hand could reach without much ado.
