Chapter 115: FACING THE PAST.
KAREN'S POV:
"What are you doing here?" I blurted out, the words tumbling from my lips before I could stop them.
My heart raced as Percy's eyes met mine, a mixture of surprise and regret flashing across his face.
"Karen, please, let me explain," Percy pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation. "I didn't mean to intrude; I just... I needed to see you."
I bit my lip, torn between anger and curiosity. Part of me wanted to lash out at him, to demand answers for all the pain he had caused me. But another part, softer and more forgiving, yearned to hear what he had to say.
"Fine," I relented, my voice barely above a whisper. "But make it quick."
Percy nodded, his expression grateful yet apprehensive. "I just wanted to say... I'm sorry, Karen. For everything. I know I hurt you, and I can't take back the past, but I want you to know that I regret it every single day."
His words hung in the air between us, carrying the weight of unspoken truths.
