I snickered. "It's not what I think? Then what is it?" Elise started to say, "That day—" "That's quite enough," I cut her off. "I don't need an explanation. You two are the perfect match—two geniuses in the medical field, both exceptionally outstanding. And me? I've always been just an ordinary doctor. I've never been worthy of Joel." All of a sudden, Elise grew agitated. "That's where you're wrong! You don't know Joel at all..." "I don't need to know," I said as I tossed more things into my box. "I will be reporting to a new hospital from tomorrow onward. Whatever goes on between you has nothing to do with me." Elise stood there, silent for a long time. "So, you're really leaving?" "Yes." "What about Joel?" I paused and turned to her. "He has you by his side. Isn't that enough?" She shook her head. "You really don't understand anything..." I picked up my box. "No, I understand completely. I wish you both all the happiness in the world, Elise." With that, I turned and left
