CHAPTER THIRTY THREE – BEACH PARTY

Soon, Nancy found herself in the middle of an impromptu s'more-making lesson, with half the party offering advice and cheering her on. "No, no, you have to squish it down more!" "Quick, before the marshmallow cools!" "That's it, now take a big bite!" As Nancy bit into her first homemade s'more, the group erupted in applause. She laughed, chocolate smeared on her chin, feeling a warmth that had nothing to do with the bonfire. Rebecca watched her sister with pride, happy to see her finally letting loose and having fun. She caught Nancy's eye and winked, receiving a chocolate-covered grin in return. As the night wore on, someone pulled out a guitar and started playing.
