CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY ONE - THE SECRET IN THE LETTERS
Rebecca sighed, placing the last book back on the shelf in Luca's study. She ran her fingers along the spine, admiring the leather-bound collection. The room smelled of old paper and Luca's cologne, a scent that usually comforted her but now felt heavy with secrets.
"There," she murmured to herself, stepping back to admire her work. The study looked immaculate, just as Luca liked it. Her eyes swept across the room, landing on his imposing mahogany desk. She approached it, running her hand along the smooth surface.
As she tidied the papers strewn across the desk, her elbow bumped against one of the drawers. A faint click echoed in the quiet room. Frowning, Rebecca bent down to investigate.
"What's this?" she whispered, noticing a small compartment that had popped open. It was cleverly hidden, invisible unless you knew where to look. Her heart raced as she reached inside, her fingers brushing against a stack of papers.
