CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY - ONE - THE RED LETTER'S WARNING
Rebecca cradled Helena in her arms, gently rocking her daughter to sleep. The soft glow of the nursery nightlight cast long shadows across the room. As she placed the sleeping child in her crib, a movement outside caught her eye. She peered through the curtains, her heart skipping a beat as she spotted a dark sedan parked across the street.
"Not again," she whispered, her fingers tightening on the curtain fabric.
The car had been there for hours, its occupants hidden behind tinted windows. Rebecca's mind raced with possibilities, each more unsettling than the last. She glanced at her phone, willing it to ring, for Luca to call and say he was on his way home.
As if on cue, the headlights of the sedan flicked on, and it pulled away from the curb, disappearing into the night just moments before Luca's familiar car turned onto their street.
Rebecca rushed downstairs, flinging open the front door before Luca could even reach for his keys.
"Luca!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms around
