As the couple continued to open up, Rebecca acted as a mediator, guiding them through their feelings and misunderstandings. It was a role reversal she never expected – the wild child helping her responsible sister navigate the choppy waters of marriage.
"You know," Rebecca said thoughtfully, "it sounds like you both want the same thing – to feel seen and appreciated by each other. Maybe instead of trying to be perfect, you could try being real with each other?"
Nancy and Leonard looked at each other, a new understanding dawning in their eyes.
"She's right," Nancy said softly. "I'm sorry I haven't been more open with you, Leonard. I was so afraid of rocking the boat that I stopped being myself."
Leonard took Nancy's hand. "And I'm sorry for getting so caught up in work that I neglected our relationship. You're the most important thing in my life, Nancy. I never want you to doubt that."
