"Faster! Faster, Mark!" She chuckled every time her voice seemed heavy due to the pressure of the wind as they moved faster. She loved it; she didn't even care how risky it was or if the cops would chase them; she just wanted to experience a high-speed ride on a motorcycle. Layla wrapped her arms tighter around Mark and rested on his back.
The breeze that kept Lana's hair in motion faded into a calm wind. They had finally reached her house, and Mark maneuvered the motorcycle through the grand gates of Lana's compound, feeling a mix of anticipation and caution. Lana quickly got down from the bike and opened the gate. It was just a three-bedroom apartment with a terrific amount of compound space. Mark brought the bike to a slow halt near a magnificent water fountain at the heart of the courtyard.
"Thanks for the ride, Mark," she said, her smile infectious. "Would you mind coming inside? I want to show you my world."
He hesitated for a moment, his gaze scanning the surroundings.
