Chapter 26: A State Of Confusion
The weekend stretched before Beth, a vast and empty canvas mirroring the hollowness in her chest. The past few weeks had been a whirlwind of emotions, one that had left her dizzy and disoriented.
Michael, bless his heart, was everything a girl could ask for. Kind, thoughtful, effortlessly romantic, and with a with a very peculiar sense of humor, there was no dull moment with him. He was the complete package, yet a crucial piece remained missing.
Despite his never ending attempts, Michael couldn't ignite the spark in Beth's heart, and the dance of butterflies in her stomach that she craved. A nagging guilt gnawed at her. Michael deserved someone who would love him with the fiery passion he so readily offered. Someone who wouldn't be constantly comparing him to someone else.
