Chapter 22: A New Connection

Michael had been waiting for the right moment to talk to Beth again about his feelings. He had been hoping their conversations could lead to it somehow, but he didn't know how to bring it up, he wanted to make sure she was ready to hear what he had to say. Finally, the day arrived. They were working on a project together, and as they took a break, Michael turned to her and said, "Beth, can we talk?" Beth looked up from her computer screen, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "Sure, what's up?" Michael took a deep breath and launched into it. "I wanted to talk to you about us. I know you said to give you time, but I feel like there's something more between us.
