Chapter 2103 Reasoning

Over at the other side, Zayn did not leave immediately, but he fixed his attention on Annabelle. He heard the conversation between her and the assistant. Seeing the way she was acting, it was clear that Annabelle’s career was not doing so well. It was as if she was in some kind of trouble. Zayn did not plan to get involved, but he and Annabelle were still friends regardless. If his friend was in trouble, he could not simply stand around and do nothing. Thus, he decided to wait longer and keep an eye on Annabelle in case she was in trouble. It did not take long before Rose received a call. She appeared to be pleasantly surprised and nudged at Annabelle while she said, “Perk up, will you? Mr. Donough is here. Show your good side so you can win him over!” Annabelle was still feeling slightly dejected, but she forced a smile instinctively even as her heart sank. It was as if she was already used to being manipulated by life and had grown accustomed to obeying and accommodating others.
