59 A Late Night Walk
“Does he have a name?” She asked again.
“No, not yet.” Gavadiol responded, rubbing the black horse's nose affectionately. “I just call him horse in my mind for now.”
He made weird whinnying sounds and the horse responded eagerly in turn. If she didn't know better, Lara would have sworn that they were communicating. Still she had to ask.
“Gavadiol, are you…are you talking to your horse?”
The dark young man snapped his head up immediately and a weird expression passed across his face before he spoke.
“No, no, of course not.” He said in an equally weird voice. “Why would I?”
“It wouldn't surprise me though,” Lara said flippantly. “I've seen more spectacular things. But then about your horses, you have quite a magnificent spread here.” She looked around in appreciation.
She had made the initial statement about the horses just to divert the conversation but now that she looked around, there was quite some good stock here.
“Glad you noticed.” Gavadiol again began to look very plea
