23 Shadow Hunters
Everyone slept in the next morning. Gavadiol and his father had let the weary circus members take the only beds in the cabin while they made themselves comfortable in other places, Sorrentino bedding down in the living room while Gavadiol headed out to his usual spot in the woods.
When he woke up the next morning to the sun shining fully in his face, he jumped up and hurried off to the cabin, initially feeling a little miffed about oversleeping. But when he got to the cabin and found everyone else fast asleep, he felt a bit better and fell to making breakfast.
Eventually, it was the delicious aroma wafting about in the cabin that woke the others up, the old man first.
“Good job son.” Sorrentino said as he gratefully accepted the cup of coffee that Gavadiol handed over. “Just what a man needs to start his day.”
“I take it that we are no longer selling any furs.” Gavadiol muttered. He did not want their visitors to hear them.
“No, certainly not now.” Sorrentino said. He clucked
