The king did not miss the double take from Lord Regioun as the boys rushed into the room and he decided something was infinitely wrong here. In fact, the man looked like his steps were faltering and he kept glancing back as he left the room. In the meantime though, the king spotted something else that was very concerning. “Kelley!” He cried out. “What in the world happened to you? You just left me now. Did you get run over by a carriage or what?” The lad looked truly terrible. But he managed to smile. “Er, I had a bad fall on the way. Simply rolled and rolled down a flight of stairs.” He said. The king could see he was lying. In fact anyone with eyes could see he was lying. But he chose to let it slide for now. “You need to march down to the infirmary and have them look at it immediately.” But Kelley bowed. “I thank my Lord for the concern but I've already had myself checked by some physicians in the city. I know I look pretty banged up but it's really not as bad as it looks.
