The little party did not come upon another pointer or any form of indicator on the trail that proved that anyone had even passed there.
When they at last stopped to set up a quick camp in the evening, Erom was puzzled.
“I don't just get it.” He said, pacing around. “How are they able to wipe their trail off so effectively? I should be able to pick something. Can a person be that good?”
“We are definitely dealing with experts.” Volkin reclined easily against a tree. “I saw them with my own eyes. They are basically like animals. You don't need to beat yourself up.”
“I agree.” Kelley added. “Relax a bit, master. We can't be too harsh on ourselves.”
But Erom did not look pleased or relaxed in the slightest.
“I think our boys found it very hard to drop obvious clues.” he continued, flipping his hair with his hands as he contemplated matters. “They must have been watched like a bloody hawk.”
