124 The Stuttin Kids

Erom woke up the next morning with a banging headache. He rolled out of bed with the sunlight directly shining into his face. There had been one too many drinks the previous night. He could not even remember how he got into bed at all. He held his head in his hands painfully as he looked around for some water to splash on it. Erom ended up plunging his head into a bucket of cold water that he found had been conveniently placed in a corner of the room. He could swear that it had not been there the previous day. His mother was such a darling. Or whoever had cared enough to leave it there for him. After plunging his head into the water, he felt a lot better and he went to peer outside. The height of the sun in the sky told him that it was pretty late already. And no one had woken him up? That was mighty strange. No one let him sleep that long. That had never happened before in this darned family house. There had to be some uncle or aunt who would come along to scream at him to get hi
