"No." Edison gritted his teeth and placed the clothes into the corner. His expression twisted with annoyance.
Before storming out of the room, he wanted to maintain some dignity. "Joshua, that shirt is made from a unique fabric. Sophie went out of her way to have it custom-made for me. Please remember to wash it only with cold water."
"Okay," I replied nonchalantly and returned my focus to the half-completed sketches on my tablet.
But in reality, I couldn't shake off a tinge of sadness inside. After all these years of knowing Sophia, she had never once bought me anything, not even a simple custom-made shirt.
The door of the guest room slammed shut, and my tense posture immediately relaxed.
I sat still on the chair for a few moments before standing up. I grabbed the clothes that Edison had left in the corner and made my way toward the bathroom.
Since it was a fair trade and Sophia had followed through on her end, I had to keep my promise to her.
