Chapter 53 A Plot in the Works

Julia was about to see Mortimer off when Tiffany stopped her. “I’ll go back with him since he’s already here, Mom. Get some rest, okay? Love you.” With that, she quickly followed after Mortimer. When the man turned to find her walking by his side, he seemed pleased for a moment. Tiffany stopped upon descending the apartment building’s front gates. She said to Mortimer, “Please don’t come here ever again. My mother doesn’t need her peace and quiet being disturbed.” Mortimer frowned, his jaw tensing up. However, this didn’t deter Tiffany. Her mother was her everything. Mortimer could throw a tantrum for all she cared. “Also, I’m a living, breathing human being, not some toy for you to play around when you want and toss away when you’re bored,” she continued. “If you really want to show that you care for me, then sign the divorce papers.” Tiffany didn’t wait for an answer before walking to the bus station.
