Chapter 16

　　A hard slap hit me in the face. Maureen pushed me and slammed the door in my face. 　　I stepped back, dejected and unsure of what to do next. I just wanted to see Marcus and apologize to him. I wanted to make sure he’s okay. I hoped he understood that I wasn’t thinking clearly. 　　The door opened and Maureen came out. "Sarah, I could have you arrested right now.” 　　“I feel bad about what I did, Maureen.” 　　“Is that really why you came here?" 　　“I want to ask him what really happened to my parents. What happened to the company.” 　　"Please let me in. I won’t bother you after this." I looked at Maureen with and begged her for the first time. 　　Mo Maureen whispered in my ear. "Let you in? So you can tell him what I did? Or do you want to play the recording to him?" She laughed as though she had just heard the funniest joke. 　　“Look, big sister. He isn’t even going to hear what you have to say to him. He’s sleeping now. Let him rest,”
