Chapter 13 Bleeding Where It Hurts

Time passed and Hunter's temper became increasingly violent. Many a time, he found himself overwhelmed with an uncontrollable impulse to turn Jin City upside down. Emlyn Young's name haunted the recesses of his mind day and night, and this nagging feeling never abated no matter how hard he tried to calm himself down. He steered clear of any place that would trigger memories of Emlyn. In the past, his weekly visits to the Shield family house had been made with her and they would spend the night in the suite on the third floor. Places that held lingering whiffs of her presence agitated him and he would not be able to sit still. Hunter stepped on the accelerator and headed for 'Elizabeth's Garden.' Elizabeth's Garden housed Emlyn's mother's cinerary urn. The housekeeper of Elizabeth's Garden was cordial and seemed to be unaware of Emlyn's departure. He reckoned Emlyn was too busy to visit and he urged them to come more often while asking about their future plans regarding children.
