Chapter 28

"Please open the door Owen. I swear I'll behave." I tried to bargain with him but instead he decided to start the car, not caring that I'd be left in the middle of nowhere. Alone. Owen turned the key and was greeted with a clicking noise coming from probably his engine. I stood and held my breath, waiting to see-- hear whether what I heard was right or not. Owen turned the keys again but the sound was persistent. I heard Owen curse out loud repeating his action of turning the key. When I heard the clicking sound again I couldn't help but double over with laughter. Each time I tried to compose myself, the look on Owen's face would pop up in my head and I'd start laughing all over again. When I finally sobered up, Owen had gotten out of the car glaring at me as if I was at fault. "This all your fault!" He exclaimed and I swear I could see a vein pop in his temple. "Me?!" "Do you see anyone else around?" He retorted. "You're just mad because your plan was a total flop." I chuckl
