Rikash showered, the water almost blocking out the telepath s screams as Krithdeker returned her to the bed in the other den.
"F-k," he grimaced. It was almost not worth the effort, he thought. Would a kit born of the woman inherit her unattractive traits as much as her power? He thought of Amelia and closed his hand around himself. His mate had never behaved in such a way.
Thinking of his mate and telepath reminded him of his mate s suggestion. It was amusing, he thought, that his mate was trying to plan strategy with him. She had volunteered information on both Krithdeker s discussion with Verika and the telepath. Was it a new effort to get to know him?
Whatever kept her happy and her Bond away from that awful grey, he decided, he would encourage. If she wanted to be useful to him by using the telepath s apparent trust in her to betray her, then he would let her be useful in that way.
