Chapter 60: The Bakery

I took the note and checked it against the street number plate. I had already checked the numbers on Ditmars Avenue three times but still didn't find the number 335.
What the hell was Jenn doing? She mysteriously gave me a note on the store two days ago, saying that an old friend had entrusted her to see if there was a suitable tenant. She also told me that it was a good place that I had never seen before, so I would be satisfied.
But the two best stores on this street were occupied by a funeral service company and a tavern, and the initial number on the whole street was 336. After three times around the block, I again returned to the original location, standing in front of this funeral service company dumbfounded.
"May I ask if you need any help, Miss?"
A chubby middle-aged man came out from inside and greeted me politely. He watched me walk in front of his store three times and probably thought I was lost.
"Oh, Sir, I'm looking for number 335. Do you know where it is?"
