Chapter 95: Coming Home

Marie “Are you sure you can stand well now?” Marie asked as she held onto Taylor's arm. “Yeah, I can manage until we get to the car,” Taylor replied as he held onto his crutches. Marie gently followed behind Taylor as they walked out of the hospital, watching every step he took while she held Caleb with her other hand. As they approached the car, Marie quickly released her grip on Caleb and rushed to the passenger door. She opened it and held it open for Taylor as he approached. When Taylor reached the door, Marie slid her hand around his waist and slowly guided him as he took his seat on the soft seat. After ensuring Taylor was well seated, she closed the door with a loud thud. Marie then opened the back door for Caleb. He quickly jumped in, and Marie closed the door behind him. She went over to the driver's door, opened it, and got in before starting the ignition. The ride home was quiet, as Taylor and Marie had little to say to each other.
