CHAPTER 60: IT WOULDN'T HURT TO MOVE ON

I woke up that morning feeling a terrible headache. I had to sit in bed for a few minutes till the pain subsided before I got up. When I did, the first thing that caught my eye was Marie's things. I'd left them in the house—especially in the bedroom where they belonged—to feel a sense of having her around.
Every morning, when I woke up and before I went to bed, they were the first and last things I saw, and it wasn't doing me good. I was becoming obsessed and more emotionally unstable. Whenever I thought about Marie, this eruption of emotions and rage overwhelmed me. Julie said it wasn't healthy for me, and I was starting to see it.
It was all a game to get to my head. Why would she have called me the other day and blocked me shortly after? Why else would she have texted me asking how I was doing? Was Marie happy to see me suffer and gradually lose my mind?
