CHAPTER 58: LOVE CAN BE FORCED

CHARLES I'd never felt so hurt before in my life. I knew that Marie didn't have romantic feelings for me—at least it was visible in her body language and words before—but I'd hoped that as time went on and as I stayed by her side and showed her love, she'd gradually grow to feel the same way for me.
