CHAPTER 31: HIS PAINFUL PAST

I knew how much this day meant to my parents and the hard work they had put into it. My mom had tried to act normal around me, but I could see how nervous she was as the day of the grand opening got closer. I was 14 years old, but I understood how much energy they put into making this day a success and why Mom was nervous. I knew they would do well, so I tried to go through my day without bothering them. However, my mom, being her, woke up as early as usual, but that morning, she woke up even earlier than normal—it must have been the nerves. It made the 14-year-old me wonder if the company's grand opening made her nervous or something else entirely, but I tried to ignore my curiosity as I didn't want to add to her stress. I sat quietly and ate my breakfast. I rushed my food since I was already running late for school. I d
