Chapter 37
Noticing Perseus' darkening expression, Camilla quickly apologized.
"Please, don't worry about it. Just be honest," Perseus reassured her, shaking his head. He took a deep breath, steadying himself.
"Last night, seeing you at Calantha Hotel felt like fate. Seeing you bullied bothered me. That's when I realized I still have feelings for you. So…" Camilla blushed. "I don't care that you're an ex-convict, much less what the future holds. I'm just happy to be your girlfriend. I've never been concerned about others' opinions."
That was Camilla. Gentle, kind, but with a stubborn streak a mile wide. Once her mind was made up, not even a bull could budge her.
"Thank you for trusting me," Perseus murmured, touched by Camilla's determination and affection. Instinctively, he clasped her hand. "I won't let you down. I'll make you happy and protect you from any harm."
With seven years of pining behind her, he owed her that much. He simply couldn't disappoint her.
