Perseus suddenly realized how naïve he had been.
Dubhe merely chuckled darkly, making no effort to urge Phanes to hurry.
After Phanes gave Perseus a few orders, she said, "Lead the way."
Then, she left with Dubhe.
Perseus shouted after them, "You better not have any tricks up your sleeve! If even a single strand of her hair is harmed, I'll never let you off!"
A hollow discomfort settled in his chest as he watched Phanes disappear into the distance.
Dubhe shook his head in disdain. "Are you even that powerful?"
Then, he sighed. "Don't worry, she won't get hurt. I don't have it in me to kill her."
With that, they departed. Fireworks lit up the sky, illuminating half of Neptuna. As the final bursts faded, Perseus scanned the horizon, only to realize that both of them had long vanished from sight.
A nagging feeling crept in—Dubhe hadn't come for him at all.
